[ANNOUNCEMENT] WonderHero partners with Cross-Chain Bridge, a security-focused bridge to provide a secured and seamless bridging experience for WND tokens.
As a GameFi project that utilizes bridges to facilitate multi-chains, the security, and safety of our community are the utmost priority of WonderHero. Attack on bridges has grown significantly over the past year, accounting for 69% of total funds stolen in 2022 so far.
While the bridges are designed to solve the challenge of interoperability between different blockchains, it is laborious progress and it is also an attractive target for hackers. To prevent exploitation and attacks, our team has to divert resources and attention to ensure the security and safety of the project.
After a long evaluation, our team believes our efforts can be streamlined and more focused on delivering better game experiences if we work with a partner that specializes in cross-chain bridging.
Cross-Chain Bridge (crosschainbridge.org) is a security-focused bridging protocol that uses liquidity pools with a flexible deposit and claim approach and reduces hack risk by removing the need for minting permission. Cross-Chain Bridge supports BNB chain, Polygon, and multiple other networks, and has amassed a TVL of $4M since its launch. With a specialized team constantly researching new security measures, we believe this partnership will put our community cross bridge needs in safe hands and deliver a great experience in a multichain world.

The WonderHero team has completed the integration, and will soon be deploying the new bridge to replace our existing WonderBridge. The date to cease WonderBridge takes effect on 27 September and players will be required to use Cross-Chain Bridge platform to deposit and withdraw $WND tokens. A separate announcement with more details will be released on our social media at a closer date.
As the team looks into a feasible Free to Play model for WonderHero, we have been evaluating various scenarios and one of them is the utilization of a single token economy. This would mean withdrawing the liquidity for $HON and transiting it into an “in-game” currency that can be acquired as an in-app purchase. We will explain this in more detail at a later date, however with this decision, $HON tokens will not be supported on the Cross-Chain Bridge platform for deposit and withdrawal. Players who would like to acquire and deposit more $HON tokens can still do as we are leaving the deposit function available during our community tournament period.
